Paris, France Top Real Estate Locations

Living around the Luxembourg Garden by KHS, Paris http://www.khs.fr Dwelling in the vicinity of a park is a great asset and the "Luxembourg Garden" neighbourhood is like Heaven on Earth. For more than four centuries France 's most renowned architects, gardeners, and sculptors employed their talents to create this extraordinary precious jewel in the very heart of Paris .

The origin of the Luxembourg Garden dates back to the early 17 th century when Marie de Medici sought a new residence after the assassination of her husband, King Henry IV.

Salomon de Brosse, who was inspired by the remarkable architecture of the Palazzo Pitti in Florence , had conceived the palace, which for the first time in Paris included a sizable park with lavish greenery.

However, in 1631 when all the work was completed, unpleasant events forced Marie de Medici to leave the country and the palace behind. This unique park possesses many features. Visitors are stunned to discover one of the originals of New York 's liberty statue and many are intrigued by the beauty of Beethoven's bust by French sculptor Emile-Antoine Bourdelle.

The graceful "Medici" fountain with its filigree "trompe l'oeil" architecture and moss-covered statues is another sensory delight where ducks paddle in the ornamental pond. Last but not least, one of Rainer Maria Rilke's most beautiful poems was created here when the Austrian poet was inspired by children playing on the merry-go-round and adjacent puppet theatre.

Since 1804 the palace has served as the permanent residence of the second chamber of the French parliament, the Senate, whose president has his own "palais" at his disposal, located on the western side next to the main building. The foyer's architecture with its splendid staircase is of particular note. Real Estate along the street of the western side of the Luxembourg Garden , which is named after the famous pilot "Georges Guynemer", is a great favourite of many Parisian.

Its top floor apartments (photo 3) overlook the park's splendour and their eastern exposure offer views of the rising sun. It is apparent that the prices of properties here match the benefits of this privileged location. For this reason many people will be more attracted by the more moderately priced "Notre Dame-des- Champs" area just around the corner and enjoy living around or on the beautiful streets of "rue Fleurus" or "rue Vavin".

This pleasant neighbourhood has a primarily young population with numerous shops and cafés. The narrow cobblestone lanes connecting the "Luxembourg Gardens" and the monumental "Saint Sulpice" church with its Mediterranean-style clock towers are truly remarkable.

Stone-carved ornate facades, airy terraces, and ivy-covered walls lend an almost rural touch to "Rue Ferou" and "Rue Servandoni", the latter carrying the name of one of the Italian architects of the church. Throughout its history countless celebrities lived around the Luxembourg Garden. Among them is Giacomo Casanova who settled in no. "12, rue de Tournon" and Beaumarchais the French writer who stayed in "rue Condé".

In those times and today, the area beginning at the "Odéon theatre" and extending along the " Luxembourg Garden " down to "boulevard Raspail" is an excellent residential area, which offers an infrastructure most attractive to those interested in Parisian real estate.
